A summer of high-profile deals and Mara’s new SIPP solution

🏦 Bringing private markets into your SIPP

While access remains an important part of the private markets conversation, how investors hold those investments matters too.

This summer, we launched a new solution enabling UK-based investors to invest in eligible funds and private assets through their personal pension (SIPP).

The solution provides investors with a tax-free vehicle for long term compounding and growth and we have received outstanding demand and feedback already from our network.

Deal Spotlight: OLIX

🚀 OLIX — Powering the next generation of AI

🟠 AI is moving rapidly from experimentation to massive-scale deployment, creating demand for a new generation of infrastructure capable of supporting it.

OLIX is one of the fastest-growing companies in AI infrastructure, building compute technology designed to meet the rapidly increasing demands of AI.

As the AI ecosystem expands, the infrastructure behind it is becoming an increasingly compelling part of the investment landscape and OLIX is right at the heart of this shift.

Mara supported our client’s investment into OLIX, providing access to the opportunity through a streamlined SPV structure.

🤖 Project Prometheus — A bet on the future of AI

🟠The next stage of AI may extend far beyond software and digital products.

One of the most talked-about AI ventures of the year, Project Prometheus, founded by Jeff Bezos, is focused on applying AI to engineering, manufacturing and the physical world.

Mara supported two separate transactions, helping two clients access the opportunity to invest in Prometheus.

The company represents a bold bet on what comes after today’s AI models: using AI not simply to generate information, but to accelerate how physical products are designed, engineered and manufactured.

Together with the developments we’re seeing across AI infrastructure, Prometheus highlights just how broad the next phase of the AI opportunity could be.

🔎 Peec AI — Making brands visible in the age of AI search

🟠AI is not only changing how companies build products. It is also changing how people discover them.

As consumers increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI platforms to search, discover and evaluate brands, Peec AI is building the infrastructure to understand and improve how companies appear in AI-generated answers.

The Berlin-based company tracks brand visibility, positioning and sentiment across leading AI search platforms, helping businesses understand how they are being represented and where they can improve.

Mara helped two of our clients invest in Peec AI, supporting their access to the opportunity through separate transactions.

Sitting at the intersection of AI, marketing and the future of search, Peec AI is another example of how quickly the application layer around AI is evolving.

🎯 Founder Games Series 2 — One SPV. 22 companies.

🟠Not every opportunity fits neatly into a single-company investment.

Founder Games Series 2 brings together 22 companies competing in a business reality show, giving investors the opportunity to back the participating founders.

Mara helped structure a multi-asset SPV, allowing investors to participate across all 22 companies through a single investment vehicle.

Instead of navigating 22 separate investments, investors can access the portfolio through one streamlined structure.

One SPV. 22 companies. One investment structure.

It’s a good example of something we see repeatedly at Mara: with the right infrastructure, complex private market opportunities can become much simpler to access.

Mara Events

Bringing the Community Together

For us at Mara, private markets are about more than transactions and structures.

They’re also about people, ideas and conversations.

That’s why we’ve continued to bring investors, founders, fund managers and private market professionals together through Mara Club and our educational events.

Mara Club | Secondaries

🟠We also welcomed a select group of investors, founders and private market professionals for an evening focused on one of the most dynamic areas of today’s investment landscape: secondaries.

The discussion explored the forces driving the rapid growth of the secondaries market, the increasing importance of liquidity solutions, and how investors are identifying opportunities in an increasingly sophisticated asset class.

But, as with every Mara Club gathering, the conversation extended well beyond the panel.

The evening created space to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives and build meaningful relationships with peers who share a long-term approach to private investing.

At Mara, we believe that access to exceptional opportunities begins with access to exceptional conversations.

Mara Club was created to bring together a community of thoughtful investors through intimate, invitation-only events that combine market insight with meaningful connections.

Thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined us for making the evening such a success. We look forward to welcoming our community back for the next Mara Club event.

Structuring Masterclass with Isomer & Mara

🟠In June, Mara partnered with Isomer Capital to host a masterclass on venture fund structuring, bringing together emerging managers, investors and fund professionals for a practical discussion on building and managing venture funds.

Led by Sasha Batica and Joe Schorge, the session covered key structuring considerations across the fund lifecycle, including warehousing strategies, feeder funds and co-investments.

One theme came through particularly clearly: fund structures are never one-size-fits-all.

The right structure needs to reflect a manager’s strategy, investor base and long-term objectives, and evolve alongside the fund itself.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an engaging discussion.

Reflections from London Tech week

🟠 Many of the conversations we’ve been having at Mara were echoed during London Tech Week, which once again brought together founders, investors, policymakers and technology leaders from around the world.

One thing stood out particularly clearly: the conversation around technology has moved from what it could do to how it is being applied today.

AI dominated the agenda, but the discussion felt noticeably more mature. There was less focus on hype and more on implementation, governance and how organisations can deploy AI responsibly while unlocking productivity and long-term value.

Alongside AI, deep tech emerged as another major theme. From quantum computing and robotics to life sciences, conversations centred on commercialising scientific breakthroughs and building the next generation of transformative businesses.

One of the standout moments was Prince William’s speech, highlighting how technology and AI can help address homelessness through Homewards and a new data-led initiative designed to better predict and prevent housing crises.

It was a powerful reminder that innovation can create meaningful social impact alongside economic value.

The event also showcased London’s strength as an international hub for technology and investment. Country pavilions from across Europe, the Middle East and Asia highlighted thriving innovation ecosystems and reinforced the importance of global collaboration in shaping the future of technology.

Our takeaway?

The question is no longer whether AI and deep tech will transform industries.

It’s who will be able to apply these technologies thoughtfully, responsibly and at scale.

And from what we’ve been seeing across the private markets, that transformation is already underway.

Looking Ahead

From the opportunities we’ve supported to the conversations we’ve hosted, this summer has reinforced something we strongly believe at Mara:

Private markets are evolving and access needs to evolve with them.

Whether it’s creating a structure for a single high-growth company, bringing 22 companies into one investment vehicle, helping investors access funds through a SIPP, or simply creating the right space for investors to learn from one another, our role is to make private markets easier to navigate.

We’re excited to continue building on this over the coming months and to keep bringing our community closer to the opportunities, people and ideas shaping the next generation of private markets.
